While this is critical for an S-Class, Mercedes-skunkworks Benz’s AMG division can’t help but get its greasy fingers all over the company’s vehicles, culminating in what you see above: the all-new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE.

With the huge hint in its name, this S 63 features a four-liter bi-turbo V8 engine mated with a rear-powering electric motor, producing 791 HP – the most of any S-Class ever. Furthermore, the hybrid unit produces 1,055 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to propel the car to 60 MPH in 3.2 seconds before reaching a high speed of 180 MPH if the additional performance pack is selected. One-pedal driving like a real electric vehicle is possible, as is regular petrol-powered automobile driving, depending on the amount of regeneration you choose, while electric power is always accessible owing to technology adapted from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula racing car.

Moving on to technology, the automobile comes standard with all of the newest and best from the German manufacturer. Aside from every driving assistance imaginable, the cabin is opulent as promised, with obvious AMG accents such as clocks, logos, and stitching indicating the car’s origin. The very modern MBUX infotainment system, augmented reality and AI head-up display, and a second-to-none surround system are among the inside technologies.

In terms of styling, the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE takes the standard S-Class and lightly beefs it up: an AMG-specific radiator grille with vertical louvers debuts, while optional packs add plenty of carbon fiber to the front, sides, and rear, where angular quad tail-pipes sit alongside red-outlined S 63 badges.
There is no official pricing yet, but it is expected to start at $200,000 USD. Take a closer look at the automobile in the image above.
