KAWS Creates 12 Bronze Sculptures for the 20th Anniversary of AllRightsReserved
AllRightsReserved (ARR) has collaborated with internationally famous artist KAWS to release 12 signed and numbered bronze sculptures as part of its collaborative 20th anniversary celebration. ARR, which was founded in 2003, has been a long-term partner of KAWS. KAWS:BFF in 2016, KAWS: CLEAN SLATE in 2015, and KAWS: Passing Through in 2010 were all curated by the Hong Kong-based studio. ARR was also responsible for the gigantic 28-meter-long float KAWS:HOLIDAY, which was the visionary’s biggest sculptural achievement to yet.
Each of the 12 bronze sculptures pays tribute to one of the duo’s previous global shows, honoring their decades-long relationship. ARR and KAWS have collaborated on a “phygital” launch, with each bronze sculpture arriving with a “tap-to-own” NFC card that connects the actual sculpture to a blockchain-backed token. The metaverse tie-in, according to a statement, “enables authentication and monitoring of in-real-life (IRL) ownership while concurrently unleashing digital services.”
Each bronze sculpture has a limited edition of 250 and 50 APs. The KAWS bronze edition draw will take place on ARR’s website on December 14 at 10 p.m. ET and will end on December 19. The winners will be informed on December 20, and the artworks will be delivered by February 20, 2023.
