Fête de l’Escalade in Geneva

The Fête de l’Escalade, often known as l’Escalade or Escalade, is Geneva’s people’s festival! It’s a chance to commemorate Geneva’s history, with torchlight parades in historical costumes commemorating the city’s escape from captivity in 1602. The events of the Battle of Escalade are commemorated over three days with historic reenactments, parades, and street activities. This year is expected to be as enjoyable as ever, given that coronavirus limitations have been lifted.

When you purchase a chocolate cauldron, a portion of the proceeds are contributed to the Compagnie de 1602, Geneva’s principal historical society and organizers of the Escalade’s official commemoration. Chocolate cauldrons are offered at the following chocolatiers:
