Bugatti Revelation, Bugatti Mythe, and Bugatti Victoire are the Bugatti timepieces for 2015. The three new Bugatti watches are powered by the same PF370 engine and calibre that powered the original Bugatti watch in 2004. The outside shell is the only thing that has changed this year.
Bugatti 2015 timepieces are more attractive to acquire as a collection than to wear on the wrist because to their unusual appearance. The watch is designed to seem like a small automotive engine within a glass display case.
The Bugatti 370 movement is housed in the tubular casing. This trend began in 2004, yet it is still exciting and cutting-edge today. Parmigiani aimed to create a watch mechanism that would accurately portray Bugatti supercars. PF’s watchmakers didn’t want to restrict their ideas to manufacturing a traditional watch with a few Bugatti-inspired elements. Instead, they set a goal for themselves and designed a watch that resembles a piece of the Bugatti Veyron engine while still telling time.
So, what sets the PF Bugatti watch apart from any other high complexity timepiece? Let’s start from the beginning.
Rather of being put on the flat surface of a single primary plate, the entire action is built on a transverse axis. The regulating organ, gear train, power reserve, and double barrel are all built in portions on five main plates that line up in the tubular extension of the block. These modules, or “floors,” interact in synergy thanks to a drive shaft that runs the length of the watch from end to end, allowing motions to be synchronized in the same way that a vehicle engine does.
The six sapphire crystals that surround the Bugatti 2015 timepieces allow the wearer to see every minute detail of the 337 components that make up the engine block on his wrist. The majority of these crystals have a “warped” shape that follows the curves of the movement rather than following a strict geometric formula. The process of creating these anomalous sapphire crystals is quite difficult.
This marvel was shown by Parmigiani Fleurier in three distinct case types at SIHH 2015.
